The subjects of typical pruning visits are .... Japanese maples!  After all, that is one of Wildwood's specialties.

There are other trees that need attention! Like native oaks, manzanitas, and bays.  In the case of manzanitas, it's mostly about clearing space around them.  Without clutter, they are a blaze of red!

Next to Sugarloaf Park, the oaks are extra gnarled and the manzanitas are windswept sideways.  This young oak is at the entrance.
